Tiverton driving lessons. Pete Austen of Austen's School Of Motoring provides information on the early stages of learning to drive and some important do's and don'ts if you plan to practice with a parent or friend between lessons.

Teaching someone how to drive and gain the skills they need to be a safe and competent driver takes a lot more than showing them the basics such as steering, signaling, manoeuvring and braking.

I aim to teach all my driving pupils good driving judgment and how to be responsible behind the wheel, so that they are able to meet the challenges that will face them both now and through a lifetime of driving.

Although some students may wish to practice between driving lessons with a parent or friend, it is advisable to have a number of lessons with a professional driving instructor, such as myself, at the early stages of driving as it is easy to pick up bad habits.

People may pick up bad habits throughout their driving life and once you have learned these habits it may be difficult to get rid of them.

Your first driving lesson:
You will begin your first driving lesson in an empty car park where you will be able to get to grips and master the basics of steering and manoeuvring the car without the pressure of a road and oncoming traffic.
We will slowly work you through one challenge to the next, moving from quiet avenues, to busier town roads and then main roads and dual carriageways. As a professional instructor I have knowledge and experience in judging the competence of a learner driver and knowing when you are ready to take on the next challenge.

Before beginning a driving lesson we will discuss the lesson and what you will be doing, so that you know what you will be working towards and trying to achieve throughout the duration of the lesson.

If you do intend to practice between driving lessons with a parent or friend then please get them to read through the important tips I have provided, as learning with a family member can be particularly stressful for both of you for a number of reasons.

As a DSA approved driving instructor based in Tiverton, Devon with years of experience in driving tuition I have understanding and ability to gauge when a student is ready to take their practical driving test, which is way I have a high pass rate.

For more information on the professional driving tuition that I provide in the Tiverton and surrounding Devon area, please contact me, Pete Austen of Austen's School Of Motoring on 0800 090 1836.
